I have lived in Brokham and Betchworth for nearly 20 years and I am not ashamed to admit that I love this place I call my home. Five years ago I began blogging about my garden and, after purchasing my first smart phone, I began to make movies of the plants and animals I share my home with. [Garden Notes] Last year I began an online course 'Design for Sustainability & Regeneration' with Gaia Education and one of the reasons I am building this website is to demonstrate some of the practical aspects of this course.

Earlier this year I became aware of the Re-Betchworth climate action and ecology group of volunteers led by James Benn. I contacted James and shared my interest in ecology and biodiversity and I was invited to join the group. This website is a contribution to the work of the group and to our goal of helping to make Betchworth even greener and healthier than it already is.

As well as trying to capture the extraordinary diversity and beauty of our local natural world, I include some of my own projects to increase the range of habitats for plants and animals and increase biodiversity around my home. I welcome contributions to the website in the form of articles, photos, short movies and artistic representations that celebrate nature.
